Wine is not simply another alcoholic beverage.
“Οἶνος εὐφραίνει καρδίαν ἀνθρώπου τοῦ ἱλαρῦναι πρόσωπον ἐν ἐλαίῳ, καὶ ἄρτος καρδίαν ἀνθρώπου στηρίζει”, meaning that wine gives joy to a man’s heart, oil makes his face sparkle and bread keeps him alive.
Wine, an ancient gift from the gods, follows humankind from the foundings of civilization and has had its own special place in sacred rituals from the beginnings of our existence, when man started to seek knowledge regarding his own kind and the mysteries surrounding him.
Accordingly, wine holds a great power since it is not just a product with various beneficial advantages for our physical and spiritual health, when consumed with moderation and diligence, it also plays a dominant part in the occult, the mysticism, the esotericism, while its “divine” attribution goes back centuries ago, starting from pre-Christian civilizations such as the Ancient Greeks, the Egyptians and the Chinese. To this day, it remains an essential item in the practice of all religions.
Therefore, it becomes obvious that quality wine is not simply another alcoholic beverage but something much more, carrying a major power along with the secrets and knowledge of humankind’s and civilization’s entire course.
